About the ARA 2022 Conference
The Archives and Records Association (ARA) UK & Ireland Annual Conference brings together members, colleagues, and influential players of the recordkeeping sector to discuss the latest developments and network with fellow members of the community. This year’s ARA 2022 Conference 'Facing Forward: Post-pandemic recordkeeping' (#ARA2022) will be held in Chester, UK, from 31st August to 2nd September for three days of fascinating, pertinent and illuminating talks and workshops.
Facing Forward: Post-pandemic recordkeeping – Change, Challenge, Choice
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Facing Forward: Post-pandemic recordkeeping’. The Coronavirus pandemic is not yet behind us, with this being the first in-person ARA conference since 2019, the conference hopes to use the opportunity to take stock, learn from the last few years, and shine a light on the path forward. What has changed? What should have changed, but hasn’t? How have the changed relationships between recordkeepers, our workplaces, our collections and our communities brought about by the pandemic had a lasting impact? What will happen next?
Conference sessions will encompass the main areas of archives and records, conservation, digital preservation and information governance using the key themes of Change, Challenge, and Choice: “We need to consider all our work at a time of great change. We need to help each other and our profession meet the challenges of today and the future. We need to work together to make the right choices.”
