This tab is the place to record information about the data transmitted via the network. This should include traffic between service machines and significant uses of the network. The RAM headings from the Service Map are included in this tab for reference but do use these flexibly and edit them if they are not helpful. You may add as many rows as necessary under these headings to capture the different activities you are measuring. Do however check that the cells that sum up the totals are referencing all the necessary columns and that the right totals are being pulled into the summary tab.

The figure you need to enter here is the average data volume transmitted per day. It may be hard to come to a accurate figure here if recording a digital preservation activity that happens inconsistently (for example ingest which may happen in peaks and troughs). The suggested approach here would be to define the level of activity for a set period (a month or a year) and average this figure out to a daily rate. |
