To mark World Digital Preservation Day 2026, nestor is presenting the findings from its latest Community Survey and updated Community Profiles. Together with the Open Preservation Foundation (OPF), it is also launching the Digital Preservation Community Search, a new tool that makes it easier to find and compare digital preservation communities worldwide.
Insights from 32 communities
The third iteration of the nestor Community Survey gathered information about digital preservation communities during summer 2026. A total of 32 communities participated, including 13 taking part for the first time.
The anonymized analysis presents the findings through tables and graphs that can be used in presentations and other materials.
The updated nestor Community Profiles bring together information about individual communities. All communities included in the 2026 profiles and the new search tool have consented to their data being published online.
A new way to explore the community
Developed by OPF, the Digital Preservation Community Search offers an easier way to search and compare information about digital preservation communities.
