Karyn Williamson 

Karyn holds a master’s degree in Archives and Records Management from the University of Dundee and a Post Grad Cert in Digital Information Management from University College Dublin. She is a Registered Archivist who has worked in various Archives across Scotland. She is currently a Digital Preservation Analyst with the Digital Preservation Coalition. Her research interests are outreach and advocacy and open-source digital preservation. She specialises in digital preservation planning and policy, benchmarking, evaluation and digital preservation for community archives. Karyn leads the DPC’s consultancy work and is your first point of contact for a free pre-consultation.

Paul Wheatley
Paul has over 20 years of experience working in digital preservation, from the seminal Cedars Project in the late 1990s, through leading the Digital Preservation Team at the British Library, to steering community driven approaches to curation as part of the Spruce Project. He has since worked as an independent consultant advising organisations on their digital preservation activities and currently provides support to members of the Digital Preservation Coalition as the Head of Research and Practice.

Jenny Mitcham 
Jenny Mitcham has worked in digital preservation for over 20 years in roles at the Archaeology Data Service and the Borthwick Institute for Archives at the University of York before joining DPC staff. She has skills and experience on a wide range of digital preservation and related topics including policy and strategy, preservation approaches, environmental impact, research data management and digitization. She also has a particular interest in certification and maturity modeling.

Michael Popham
Prior to joining the DPC, Michael spent 25 years working for the University of Oxford, holding senior roles in both IT Services and the Bodleian Libraries, where he was the Head of Digital Collections and Preservation until 2020. Michael was previously Director of the Arts and Humanities Data Service Centre for Literature, Languages, and Linguistics, based at Oxford, and subsequently Head of the Oxford Digital Library. He has led several major digitization and digital preservation projects, and coordinated the Bodleian’s participation in the Google Books Library Programme.

 Cost

DPC Consultancy is open to all members and non-members alike. Full Members receive 5 days direct support, included as part of their membership, and can access additional consultancy time at the Members' rates below. Associate Membership ensures the support of the DPC team and members. Where a question requires DPC staff to commit more time and research, or is more urgent, we will charge at-cost based on the following Member rates.

The DPC has set costs for specific services when they are provided to Members:
