The Digital Preservation Coalition is looking for speakers for its first Around the World event, exploring Risk Management on 17–19 November 2026. We are inviting people across the digital preservation community to share their experiences, questions and ideas. Proposals are open to everyone until 30 September.
‘Around the World’ is a new online DPC event format that brings people together across time zones for live conversation, debate and knowledge sharing on some of the biggest topics facing our sector. Each event will run over three days, with regional sessions connected through conversations and handovers so that ideas can travel from one part of the world to the next.
Four themed events are planned over the next 12 month:

Preservation at Scale
How to get involved
For our first event, we’d like to hear what risk means in your digital preservation work. Your presentation might explore:

The greatest risks you face, and how your organization is responding to them

Risks that may be particular to your organization or region

Risks you think the digital preservation community has yet to identify or address
-
Whether you think some risks have been under- or overstated
Or perhaps you have an entirely different take on the topic. We welcome practical experiences, questions and ideas that will get people talking.
The event will feature three webinars, with sessions for Australasia and Asia-Pacific, Europe and Africa, and the Americas. Anyone can propose a talk for one of these sessions; you do not need to work for a DPC Member organization or be a DPC Supporter.
