In the first of our new series of Around the World webinars, we are going to explore the topic of “Risk Management” between 17th-19th November, 2026.
We are inviting the international digital preservation community to hear from one another and discuss a range of issues around this topic. What does “risk” mean to you? What are the greatest risks you face in your digital preservation work? What is your organization’s attitude to risk, and what steps are in place (or planned) to mitigate risk? Does your organization face particular kinds of risk, or are there risks which you think the digital preservation community has yet to adequately identify or address? Do you think the risks we face in digital preservation have been under- or over-stated? Or perhaps you have an entirely different take on the topic?
In this series there will be three separate webinars looking at risk management: one for each of the major global time zones covered by the DPC’s Membership organizations and Supporters:
Around the World - Risk Management #1 (Australasia and Asia-Pacific)
01:00 UTC (click here for your local time) Tuesday 17th November 2026
Around the World - Risk Management #2 (Americas)
18:00 UTC (click here for your local time) Wednesday 18th November 2026
Around the World - Risk Management #3 (UK, Europe, Africa, West Asia)
13:00 UTC (click here for your local time) Thursday 19th November 2026
Anyone is welcome to submit a proposal to speak at one of these webinars – you don’t need to come from a DPC Member organization or be an existing DPC Supporter.
If you’d like to offer a presentation as part of this exciting new series, then please complete the short proposal form, and submit it no later than 23:59 AOE (Anywhere On Earth) 30th September.
If you have any questions about the submission process, please contact: info@dpconline.org
We hope to be able to confirm the programme of speakers and topics by mid-October, when we will update this page and open up registration for each of the webinars.
In the meantime, make a note in your diary and we look forward to you joining us in mid-November!
