I'm excited to share that our brand new Digital Preservation Advocacy Toolkit is now live and available for a 5-week Member preview on the DPC website! 🚀

The new resource is grounded in lived experience across our community, designed to be used in real situations: whether you’re building internal buy‑in, shaping a campaign or translating technical needs into organisational value.

I’ve had the privilege of co-ordinating this work from its original format, through the thought processes which aimed for something more ambitious and into something tangible and usable! We’ve taken what began as the Executive Guide on Digital Preservation and expanded it into a flexible, practical resource that you can dip into, adapt and make your own. Digital preservation advocacy isn’t one‑size‑fits‑all, and the Toolkit aims to reflect that.

It’s been a long, creative and genuinely collaborative process. What stands out most is the generosity of our members: thoughtful feedback, practical examples, honest challenges and a willingness to share what really works (and what doesn’t) when advocating for digital preservation.

The Member preview phase is a chance to sense-check, refine and make sure we’ve built something that truly meets the needs of a global community. So if you are a DPC Member, please do explore it and share your thoughts on the content, structure usability, and anything at all!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed along the way, especially the wonderful Advocacy Toolkit Working Group, who have helped shaped the Toolkit into what I hope will be something that can usefully be used across the community. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it’s used - and what we can still improve before our public launch and celebratory event in June! 🎉 🎉 🎉
