The PREMIS Editorial Committee has released a Spanish language version of the Understanding PREMIS guide this week.
The guide provides a brief overview of the PREMIS preservation metadata standard, offers an idea of what PREMIS is all about and introduces the PREMIS Data Dictionary for Preservation Metadata.
Now available in Spanish, the Understanding PREMIS guide was translated using the prize fund awarded to the PREMIS Data Dictionary as part of its Digital Preservation Awards win in 2022. Recipients of the Digital Preservation Coalition’s 20th Anniversary Award, PREMIS was recognized for its lasting and sustainable contribution to the digital preservation community in an awards ceremony in Glasgow as part of the iPres 2022 conference.
“PREMIS is not only the de-facto standard for preservation metadata implemented in countless digital preservation systems around the world, but it is also a global community,” explains Karin Bredenberg, Chair of the PREMIS Editorial Committee.
“We are always looking for ways to make this resource accessible to as many users as possible around the world, so we are delighted to be able to make Understanding PREMIS available to the Spanish-speaking community.”
The Spanish translation of Understanding PREMIS will be launched in collaboration with RIPDASA at a webinar on 28 July. Subscribe to This email address is being protected from spambots. Entender PREMIS: ahora disponible en español
El Comité Editorial de PREMIS ha publicado esta semana una versión en español de la guía Entender PREMIS.
La guía proporciona una breve visión general del estándar de metadatos de preservación PREMIS, ofrece una idea de lo que es PREMIS y presenta el Diccionario de Datos PREMIS para Metadatos de Preservación.
Ahora la guía Entender PREMIS está disponible en español. Este material se ha traducido gracias al fondo de premios concedido al Diccionario de Datos PREMIS por la convocatoria Premios de Preservación Digital de 2022. Galardonado con el Premio del 20º Aniversario de la Coalición de Preservación Digital, PREMIS fue reconocido por su contribución duradera y sostenible a la comunidad de preservación digital en una ceremonia de entrega de premios en Glasgow como parte de la conferencia iPres 2022.
"PREMIS no solo es el estándar de facto para los metadatos de preservación implementados en innumerables sistemas de preservación digital en todo el mundo, sino que también es una comunidad global", explica Karin Bredenberg, presidenta del Comité Editorial de PREMIS.
"Siempre estamos buscando formas de hacer accesible este recurso al mayor número posible de usuarios en todo el mundo, por lo que estamos encantados de hacer Entender PREMIS a disposición de la comunidad hispanohablante."
La traducción al español de Entender PREMIS se anunciará para Iberoamérica en colaboración con RIPDASA, la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y la Universidad de la República de Uruguay en un seminario web que tendrá lugar el 28 de julio.
