The Digital Preservation Awards 2026 continue to welcome nominations for the inspiring people, projects, and initiatives that are helping to shape our field.
Organized by the Digital Preservation Coalition every two years, the Awards are a celebration of achievement from across the global digital preservation community. They recognize the dedication, and collaboration that underpin this work, and shine a light on the many different ways individuals and organizations contribute towards a sustainable future for our digital assets.
From research and innovation to teaching, advocacy, safeguarding at-risk content, and cross-sector collaboration, the Awards offer an opportunity to celebrate work that deserves to be more widely seen. They also recognize the people behind that work: those building knowledge, sharing practice, maintaining essential services, and helping digital preservation move forward in meaningful and practical ways.
With nominations open until 09:00 UTC on Tuesday 5 May 2026, there is still time to put forward a project, initiative, or collaboration that has made a positive contribution to the digital preservation field. Entry is free, and you do not need to be a DPC member to participate.
This year’s Awards include an exciting new category, the Award for Resilience, Maintenance, and Continuity, which celebrates the often unseen but essential work of sustaining the services, systems, and infrastructure that digital preservation depends on.
We are looking forward to another exciting year for the Awards, and to celebrating the people and projects whose work continues to inspire and strengthen the digital preservation community.
