The DPC is delighted to welcome the University of Sheffield Library as its latest member.

‘This is an exciting time to be involved in Digital Preservation at the University of Sheffield’, explained Tracey Clarke, Assistant Director for Academic Services. ‘We’re in the process of recruiting a new Digital Preservation Officer and are currently tendering for systems. We’re writing a digital preservation policy, establishing a collections schedule and enhancing how we handle digital research outputs.’

‘Joining the DPC adds momentum to this important development. It raises our profile in digital preservation, lets us access know-how and gives assurance that we’re developing best practice.’

‘It’s a great pleasure to welcome Sheffield University to the DPC’, said Laura Mitchell, Chair of the DPC and Deputy Keeper of the Records of Scotland.

‘I am pleased but not surprised at how much the DPC’s membership has grown in the last few years. The benefits and opportunities which membership brings are increasingly aligned with the strategic imperative which so many institutions face in safeguarding and exploiting valuable digital resources. As a full member, Tracey and colleagues will be able to shape the work of the DPC around their own needs and have significant influence on the direction of the Coalition in the future.’
