The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to announce that the Smithsonian Libraries and Archives has joined, becoming the Coalition’s newest Full Member.
The Smithsonian Libraries and Archives (SLA) is part of the Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum, education, and research complex. Through its collections, services, and expertise, it supports access to knowledge, advances research, and preserves the documentary and published record of the Smithsonian and the wider cultural heritage community.
By joining the DPC, the Smithsonian Libraries and Archives becomes part of an international community of organizations committed to securing long-term access to digital content and ensuring that digital materials remain accessible and usable for future generations.
Riccardo Ferrante, Associate Director, Information Management and Digital Curation at SLA, said:
