Digital preservation brings people together, and these DPA 2026 finalists show what can be achieved when they share their expertise! The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) continues its video series introducing the Digital Preservation Awards 2026 finalists, this time celebrating Collaboration and Cooperation.
One of eight Awards categories, the Award for Collaboration and Cooperation recognizes partnerships across institutions, professions, sectors and geographical boundaries that make a positive difference to digital preservation. It is generously sponsored by the International Council on Archives (ICA).
Meet the three outstanding finalists:
-
From Basement to Citizen: An Integrated Approach to the Digitisation, Preservation and Access to Environmental Permits connects digitization, sustainable archiving and access, helping local authorities in Flanders manage environmental permit records.
-
Future Nostalgia: Safeguarding the knowledge of floppy disks brings practitioners, conservators and retro-computing communities together to share expertise through the open-access Copy That Floppy! guide.
-
IIM Africa Digital Preservation Capacity Building and Collaboration Initiative develops preservation skills through training, certification and partnerships across countries and sectors.
Take a few minutes to hear directly from the finalists about their work, the partnerships behind it and what they have achieved together.
Organized by the DPC, the Digital Preservation Awards are the leading international celebration of achievement in digital preservation. The Awards recognize the people, projects, and organizations making outstanding contributions to securing our digital legacy.
