Based in Ghent, Belgium, Docbyte is a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) specialising in compliant long‑term digital archiving and preservation. The company helps regulated organisations keep records, datasets and evidence authentic, intact and accessible over time, beyond system migrations and application retirement.

Its core solution, Docbyte Vault, is an open, standards‑aligned preservation and archiving environment designed for high‑assurance retention, evidential integrity, signature and seal preservation, as well as secure, controlled ingestion of digital content. Docbyte’s work supports public‑sector, Life Sciences, HR, insurance and other compliance‑driven environments, combining digital preservation practice with regulated trust services to ensure trustworthy and durable access to information.

“We are pleased to apply to join the Digital Preservation Coalition as a Supporter,” says Frederik Rosseel, CEO of Docbyte. “Docbyte believes durable, trustworthy and accessible digital information is essential for organisations and society, and we look forward to contributing practical experience while learning from the wider preservation community.”

The DPC’s Supporter Program enables a structured, ongoing dialogue between members and solution providers, helping vendors understand and respond to the changing needs and challenges facing the digital preservation community.

Welcoming the news, Sarah Middleton, Chief Community Officer for the DPC, commented:
“The continued growth of our Supporter community is an enormously positive development for our members worldwide. We look forward to collaborating with Docbyte as they advance trusted, standards‑aligned preservation services and bring valuable innovation to the sector.”

Members of the digital preservation community around the world will be able to hear from and learn more about Docbyte’s product and service offering as they join the line-up for the popular  'Pre‑procurement: What you need to know before you buy' - DPC Supporter Spotlight Panel and Webinar Series which is free to attend, open to all and kicks-off on Thursday 19th March.

The event series is part of the DPC Supporter Program, which enables digital preservation service and solution providers around the world to access the expert network of the Coalition’s membership through focused activities as well as the DPC’s broader program of events. A tiered fee structure enables participation from organisations of all sizes — from sole traders and non‑profits to major commercial providers. Funds raised through the Supporter Program enable the DPC to offer extended support to its member community.

The DPC is an international charitable foundation which supports digital preservation, helping its members around the world to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services through community engagement, targeted advocacy work, training and workforce development, capacity building, good practice and standards, and through good management and governance. Its vision is a secure digital legacy.
