The IDCC is an established annual event with a unique place in the digital curation community, reaching out to individuals, organizations and institutions across all disciplines and domains involved in curating data and providing an opportunity to get together with like-minded data practitioners to discuss policy and practice.

This year’s conference theme, FAIR DO's: Centring People in the Stewardship and Curation of Digital Objects, considers the growing emphasis on machine actionability, FAIR digital objects, and artificial intelligence within data infrastructures, while drawing attention to the essential role of people in planning, managing, and carrying out digital curation work.

The organizers invite submissions that explore these questions through research, practical case studies, tools, and community experiences.

Contributions are invited in five formats:

  • Papers – for advanced research or practice work with substantial findings and reflections;

  • Lightning Talks – short presentations highlighting work in progress, completed projects, or practical lessons learned;

  • Posters – visual presentations designed to showcase projects, stimulate discussion, and gather community feedback;

  • Demos – a new format for IDCC27, offering an opportunity to showcase applications or services relevant to digital curation;

  • Workshops – practical, often hands-on sessions focused on methods, training, or collaborative exploration.
