To mark World Digital Preservation Day 2026, nestor is presenting the findings from its latest Community Survey and updated Community Profiles. Together with the Open Preservation Foundation (OPF), it is also launching the Digital Preservation Community Search, a new tool that makes it easier to find and compare digital preservation communities worldwide.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to announce the launch of its new Global Ambassador Programme, an international initiative that will help organisations using the Digital Preservation Toolkit for Community Archives to support community archives in preserving their digital heritage for future generations.

Launched as part of World Digital Preservation Day 2026, the programme reflects this year's theme, SOS: Save Our Stories: Our Digital Heritage in Danger, which highlights the urgent need to protect the digital records, memories, and collections that tell the story of our communities.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) has published a new annual statement to accompany the Global Bit List of Endangered Digital Materials this World Digital Preservation Day, Thursday 5 November.

While the Bit List itself is updated every two years and will next be revised in 2027, this new statement offers the digital preservation community an opportunity to consider the existing Bit List through the lens of today's rapidly changing environment.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to announce the publication of five new French translations of key digital preservation resources, thanks to the generous efforts of volunteer translators from the Cellule Nationale de Veille sur les Formats (CNVF). This work was coordinated under the French association Aristote and its working group on the Preservation of Digital Information (PIN).

These translations make essential digital preservation knowledge more accessible to French-speaking professionals and institutions, helping to strengthen global collaboration and capacity across the digital preservation community.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is pleased to offer one Career Development Fund grant to support a DPC Member attending the 21st International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC27), taking place in Lisbon, Portugal between 9-12 February 2027.

This Career Development Fund grant will cover 100% of the conference registration fees and provide a contribution towards travel and accommodation. Grant applications are welcomed from DPC Members until 23:59 anywhere in the world on 9th November 2026, and more details about the grant, eligibility, and criteria are provided below.

The global digital preservation community came together in Warsaw today as the winners of the Digital Preservation Awards 2026 were revealed at a celebratory ceremony co-hosted by the No Time to Wait (NTTW) Conference and the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute (FINA), recognizing outstanding contributions to securing our digital legacy for future generations.
