National Museums Scotland, National Library of Scotland, National Videogame Museum and Ukie (The Association for UK Interactive Entertainment) are co-hosting a free conference in Edinburgh on Wednesday 16 September to develop a roadmap for collecting video game culture across the UK.

With speakers from the heritage and video games sectors and academic researchers, attendees will explore:

  • How we collect video games

  • Who we collect for

  • How we make them accessible and engaging to a wide range of audiences.

Sector leading speakers will address themes including:

  • Collecting strategies for video game heritage

  • Copyright and IPR

  • Preservation, both analogue and digital

  • Access, interpretation and community participation.

The conference will take place at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Tickets are free but booking is required.
