About The No Time To Wait Conference

The sixth edition of the No Time to Wait conference will be hosted by the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision and MediaArea.net on October 26th - 28th, 2022 at Sound & Vision's media museum in The Hague, the Netherlands.

No Time to Wait is a free three-day conference focused on open mediaopen standards, and digital audiovisual preservation managed by MediaArea.net. This year's theme is Transparency, Teaching & Trust. Sharing open source solutions, contributing to open standards, and maintaining open workflows can build a participatory, responsive, and sustainable foundation against the challenges of audiovisual preservation work. However, if funders, managers, supporters, and the communities we support don't understand how it all works, then skepticism, confusion, or exclusion can enter the environment. At this year's No Time to Wait we focus on cultivating Transparency, Teaching & Trust, working in a way that is sensible to onlookers, advocating for open solutions, and the challenge to sustain and evolve workflows from all perspectives.

Please see the No Time to Wait 6 website for more information. The registration form is now online as is the call for proposals.

No Time to Wait will be a free-registration and remote-accessible event. This is made possible thanks to the generosity of its sponsors:

About the DPC Career Development Fund Travel Grants

The DPC Career Development Fund Travel Grants will provide funding to help support the costs of travel for DPC members attending the No Time To Wait conference in person.

Each travel grant will provide a contribution towards travel and accommodation to supplement in-person attendance, with amounts offered up to the following limits:

  • Domestic travel (within the Netherlands) - £150
  • Intra-Continental travel - £300
  • Inter-Continental travel - £750

For more details about eligibility and criteria, please read the Career Development Fund Guidelines. Applicants are also encouraged to contact the DPC Training & Grants Manager (Amy Currie, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) should any questions arise.

Eligibility

All DPC members are eligible to apply for this grant. This includes prospective members whose request to join is approved by the application deadline of 07:00 UTC on 2nd September 2022. Career Development Fund grants are not available to non-members.

Please note that only one application can be made per member (e.g., one application for one staff member representing a DPC member organization). We recommend that any member organization which supports an application discusses appropriate outcomes and benefits for the institution prior to submission. Moreover, because only one grant is available per member institution, we recommend that applicants ensure that they are not inadvertently competing with colleagues.

How to Apply

An application form and the full Career Development Fund Application Guidelines are available on the DPC website’s Career Development Fund page

All sections of the application form should be completed and returned to Amy Currie (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), accompanied by explicit approval for attendance from a supervisor (via email or attached letter), by 7:00 UTC on 2nd September 2022 (click here to see the deadline in your local time).

Please note that only one grant is available per member per call. In other words, DPC members may submit a maximum of one application for one applicant for this advertised call (e.g., one application for a person representing a DPC member organization). There cannot be multiple applicants representing the same DPC member, so please coordinate with colleagues to ensure one application is submitted.
