With a collection of over 9 million volumes in print and electronic form, the Penn Libraries combines traditional scholarship with modern approaches to digital preservation and information management.

"Joining the DPC offers an invaluable opportunity to connect with a global community of practitioners who understand the complexities of digital preservation and can offer insights, strategies, and support," says the Penn Libraries' Digital Preservation Librarian Rachel Appel. "I look forward to sharing insights from Penn's digital preservation journey while benefiting from the collective expertise of this global community and further strengthening Penn's commitment to best practices in digital preservation."

Anna Perricci, Head of DPC Americas, welcomed the Penn Libraries to the Coalition, stating: "The addition of the University of Pennsylvania Libraries to the DPC marks another important step in expanding our international community. Their experience in building a sustainable program, with its focus on staff training and advocacy, will strengthen our collective efforts in digital preservation."

The DPC is an international charitable foundation which supports digital preservation, helping its members around the world to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services through community engagement, targeted advocacy work, training and workforce development, capacity building, good practice and standards, and through good management and governance.
