The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is seeking nominations from Full Members for two upcoming vacancies on its Executive Board. The vacancies arise as part of planned leadership transitions over the coming months, including the appointment of a new Chair and Vice-Chair.
Board members play a key role in shaping the DPC's strategic direction, providing governance and oversight and acting as advocates for digital preservation across the international community.
Appointment to the Board also makes candidates eligible for consideration for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair.

Who can apply?
Representatives of DPC Full Members who are willing and able to contribute to the governance of the organisation. -
How many vacancies are there?
Two Board vacancies are anticipated over the coming months. -
Are these vacancies specifically for Chair and Vice-Chair?
No. The immediate recruitment is for Board positions. Individuals appointed to the Board will also be eligible for consideration for Chair and Vice-Chair appointments. -
How much time is involved?
Board members are expected to attend quarterly Board meetings, engage with Board business between meetings and act as ambassadors for the DPC and its mission. -
What qualities is the Board seeking?
Leadership experience, strategic thinking, commitment to digital preservation, sound judgement, and the ability to represent the interests of the DPC community. -
Does the Chair have additional responsibilities?
Yes. In addition to leading Board meetings, the Chair acts as an ambassador for the DPC and provides oversight and support to the Executive Director on behalf of the Board. Role descriptions are available upon request. -
When will appointments be made?
The intention is to complete the process in advance of the Board meeting on 30 November 2026 and the AGM on 3 December 2026.
