The iPRES 2026 Organising Committee is pleased to announce the Call for Contributions for iPRES 2026, the 22nd International Conference on Digital Preservation.

The conference will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 21- 25 September 2026, and will offer both in-person and virtual participation options. The iPRES 2026 Committee warmly welcomes contributions from researchers, practitioners, and organisations worldwide engaged in digital preservation.

This year's conference themes Community, Preservation, and Horizon invite reflections on the evolving practices, innovations, and collaborations shaping the future of digital preservation. More details about the themes and example topics can be found on the iPRES website.

Types of Contributions

Submissions are invited in the following categories:

  • Full Papers In-depth research papers, technical papers, or case studies (max. 8 pages)

  • Short Papers Concise reports on work-in-progress or emerging topics (max. 4 pages)

  • Workshops Interactive, hands-on sessions focusing on tools, methods, or best practices

  • Tutorials Educational sessions or demonstrations designed to teach new skills or technologies, with clear learning outcomes; suitable for beginner to advanced levels

  • Panels Discussions focused on key issues or trends in digital preservation

  • Posters Visual presentations of projects or ideas, enabling one-on-one engagement

If you are unsure which format best fits your contribution, please consult the general submission guidelines. All peer-reviewed contributions must follow the official submission instructions.

The submission deadline is March 9, 2026 (End of Day, Anywhere on Earth).

Additional calls for ad-hoc contributions such as Lightning Talks, Birds of a Feather sessions, Games, and the Digital Preservation Bake-Off will be shared around May 2026.

iPRES 2026 upholds the values of respect, kindness, diversity, and hospitality. All contributors, volunteers, and participants are expected to follow our Code of Conduct, available on the conference website.
