22nd June 2020 // ‘Getting Started with Advocacy for Digital Preservation’ Training

This training workshop takes place online over the course of a day; as a series of presentations, interactive discussions and self-study. Aimed at helping provide attendees with skills and ideas for identifying stakeholders and champions required to affect change, it includes ways to showcase digital preservation as an indispensable service within an organization and provides resources to help support organizational advocacy activities.

23rd June 2020 // Connecting the Bits

Our Member’s Unconference ‘Connecting the Bits’ has been adapted to take place online, over the course of a day (with plenty of breaks!) The morning will take an unconference format, with a difference. Prioritizing networking, interaction and knowledge exchange between DPC Members, we’re asking you to tell us NOW which topics you’d like to hear about AND/OR whether you have a topic or work you would like to share. Collating these topics, we will build a program of short networking sessions for the first part of the day.

The afternoon will focus on DPC actions for the coming year. Starting with a brief presentation of the DPC RAM results, we’ll build upon the trends emerging from this model as well as the results of a Full Member call for support topics, and break into working groups to prioritize, discuss and recommend a course of action.

For this session to work effectively we encourage those DPC Members who have not yet made a DPC RAM submission to do so by 9th June. If you need advice, help or just more information about completing your RAM, do join us for the RAM Jam on Tuesday 2nd June.

Please note: Full Members may each register up to three delegates. Associate Members may each register one delegate for the event, adding others to a waiting list which will be allocated a week before.

24th June 2020 // A Guide to Digital Preservation Procurement: Launch Event and Workshop

Following on from our Digital Preservation Futures Webinar series (watch again here), this year our associated event has the theme of procurement. DPC Members and Supporters are invited to spend an afternoon exchanging experiences of this process and working collaboratively towards lowering the barrier to effective procurement through the development of a useful resource.

To get the most from this event we would like to harness the experiences and insights of DPC Members who are not just taking part in a procurement process now (or imminently), but those who have previously procured a digital preservation product or service, as well as those who are yet to do so!
