We are looking for a dynamic Digital Curation Lab Coordinator who has a strong professional profile and at least three years’ experience in project management involving digital technology, ideally within an HE environment to join the University of Salford's Digital Curation Lab, based on the MediaCityUK campus. This vacancy is in direct response to support allocated from the Higher Education Innovation Fund to develop and maintain Digital Preservation Services, with the tagline: Digitisation for Long-Term Accessibility.

You will be required to acquire, develop and maintain positive working relationships with Digital Curation Lab's service clients. You will also be involved in preparing and delivering relevant promotional activities associated with the Digital Curation Lab's digital preservation services. You should be able to work with potential clients across the GLAM (gallery, library, archive, and museum) sector. You will apply specialist skills and expertise to the needs of DCL's clients whilst ensuring you are constantly updating knowledge in order that our clients are working to the expectations of digital preservation standards. The role also involves coordinating with postgraduate students working to provide digital curaton services to the DCL's clients.

An opportunity for Continuing Professional Development in Project Managment may be made available to you, as offered through the University of Salford's Programme Management Office, if necessary. Other CPD opportunities will also be available through our membership of the Digital Preservation Coalition.

You will have specialist skills in project management, including successful grant writing, along with professional knowledge and understanding of digital curation and/or digital preservation.

You will have experience working in the GLAM sector and/or with HE institutions and be familar with the use of techniques and processes used within the provision of document digitisation and digital preservation services; our understanding of documents extends from paper-based materials to audiovisual recordings.  

You will be joining the Digital Curation Lab, which is led by experienced academics and industry professionals in developing our client base and supporting our service users within a rich and stimulating digital preservation studio environment.
