Fixed Term

The UCL MA in Archives and Records Management Programme is looking for sabbatical cover for teaching delivery in digital preservation January-March 2026. The teaching will be delivered on campus and by providing asynchronous content for our option INST0045 Digital Curation, led by Dr. Hannah K. Smyth. This module introduces our students to the core aspects of preserving, managing, and providing access to born digital and digitised content.

The module covers (but is not limited to) bit-level preservation, advocacy, metadata, access and use of digital materials, email and web archiving, and the climate crisis. You will be contracted to provide 10 weeks of teaching with a particular focus on digital competencies, plus marking of assessments. Lecture content is delivered asynchronously and you will be at UCL to deliver face-to-face teaching in a computer lab on Tuesday afternoons.

Whilst the above outlines our approach to this teaching, we are open to discussions on the format for this delivery within the context of UCL operational considerations and module requirements. The current module description is at: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/module-catalogue/modules/digital-curation-INST0045.

For further information or to formally express an interest please contact Dr. Hannah K. Smyth, hannah.smyth@ucl.ac.uk. Renumeration for this role will be discussed following expression of interest.
