As a Product Manager you will be working closely with a multidisciplinary Product Team and with colleagues across Wellcome Collection to ensure the digital products you manage meet or exceed the expectations of our users and that diverse audiences engage with and gain a sense of belonging to Wellcome Collection.

What will I be doing?

You will take specific responsibility for helping ensure the team have a clear understanding of the problems they are solving, why our audience and users would use it and why Wellcome wants to build it. You will work with designers, software developers, data analysts, content creators and stakeholders from across Wellcome to build feasible and valuable digital products.

In practice this means that you will need to:

  • Define and champion the vision for the product and how it fits into the rest of the architecture, serving as the key spokesperson for the product being managed, clearly and convincingly communicating the aims of the product internally and externally;

  • Day-to-day management of your product and the alignment of your product to the overall departmental strategy and product roadmap;

  • Build and prioritise the product backlog based on effort, research and analysis, testing and need;

  • Ensure the team appreciate the problems to be solved and help devise desirable and feasible solution with the rest of the team.

  • In this way, you will help ensure that everyone benefit from and enjoy Wellcome Collection’s content and services.

What we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and passionate about the importance of designing accessible and inclusive services.

It’s essential you have the following:

  • Solid comprehension of website development best practices including user research, interface design, AB testing, information architecture, domain driven design and software development and deployment.

  • Solid knowledge of web technologies.

  • Solid command of web accessibility standards and designing inclusive digital products.

  • Solid comprehension of designing content driven websites (e.g. content design, microcopy etc.)

  • Highly curious with strong analytical and interpretation skills

  • Passionate about the ability of qualatative and quant data to improve user experience.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment about important business issues for reporting and escalation.

  • Ability to develop and refine a compelling product vision.

  • Willingness, flexibility, creativity, and energy in taking initiative and assuming responsibility.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Calm with a proactive attitude.

  • Experience of working in agile or lean product development teams
