We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual to the new post of Research Data and Digital Preservation Officer. The post holder will support researchers with depositing data into the University of Sussex Research Data Repository Figshare and prepare archival material for ingest in to Special Collections Digital Preservation System Arkivum.
To succeed in this post, you will have excellent communication skills, able to explain complicated information clearly and effectively. You will provide support to researchers through training sessions and one to one support. You will be able to learn new applications and analyze data and your IT skills will be of a high standard.
You will be joining a small team, and you will be able to contribute to the work of the team while being able to work independently and under your own initiative.
You will have knowledge of the digital preservation and research data environment or have a commitment to developing this.
The post will include occasional evening and weekend work.
