The DPC is pleased to offer a Career Development Fund grant for the Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) Archiving 2023 Conference (#Archiving2023), taking place 19-23 June, in Oslo, Norway.

The grant will cover 100% of the conference registration fee, provide a contribution towards travel and accommodation, and offer optional additional funding for one short course. More details about the grant are provided below, and applications are welcomed from DPC members until the grant application deadline of 21st March 2023.

About the IS&T Archiving Conference

Since 2004, the Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) Archiving conference has been bringing together an international community of technical experts, managers, practitioners, and academics from cultural heritage institutions, universities, and commercial enterprises, to explore and discuss state-of-the-art imaging, digitization, preservation, and access for 2D, 3D, and AV materials, including documents, manuscripts, photographs, bound volumes, paintings, videos, and born-digital works.

The interdisciplinary focus of the conference creates a rich environment for information exchange. In addition to presenting the latest research results on digitization and curation, Archiving investigates new technologies, strategies, and policies, as well as reports on successful projects that can serve as benchmarks in the field and explores different platforms and ways of visualizing collection data, allowing for deeper connections with collections.

This year’s Archiving 2023 conference (#Archiving2023) will take place in Oslo, Norway, the week of June 19-23, and will feature final presentations from the CHANGE—Cultural Heritage Analysis for New Generations—program. Program topics will cover areas related to 2D, 3D, and AV materials including, but not limited to: Digitization / Imaging, Preservation / Archiving, Access / Presentation, and Management and Assessment.

Eligibility

All DPC Members are eligible to apply for this Career Development Fund grant. This includes prospective members whose request to join is approved by the application deadline of 07:00 UTC on 21st March 2023. Career Development Fund grants are not available to non-members. For information about joining the DPC, see https://www.dpconline.org/about/join-us.

Please note that only one grant is available per member per advertised call. In other words, DPC members may submit a maximum of one application for one applicant for this advertised call (e.g., one application for a person representing a DPC member organization). We recommend that any member organization which supports an application discusses appropriate outcomes and benefits for the organization prior to submission. Moreover, because only one grant is available per member institution, we recommend that applicants ensure that they are not inadvertently competing with colleagues.
