Digital Preservation Coalition launches new Research and Development Fund for Members

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Research & Development (R&D) Fund, offering targeted grant support for practical projects that help DPC Full Members develop, strengthen, or extend their digital preservation practice.
Supported by the DPC Supporter Fund - part of the wider DPC Supporter Program - the R&D Fund represents a significant new investment in the global digital preservation community. The 2025–2026 cycle marks the first time the DPC is able to offer grant funding of this kind to its members.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to give members a one-month preview of its latest Technology Watch Guidance Note: Coordinating an Interdepartmental Rapid Assessment Model by Kari May of the University of Pittsburgh Library System.
This Guidance Note provides a helpful case study, illustrating how one organization planned and carried out an interdepartmental assessment using the DPC’s Rapid Assessment Model (RAM), a tool for quickly evaluating digital preservation maturity and identifying priorities for improvement across eleven capabilities.
