The Business, Humanities & Social Sciences Librarian supports research, teaching, and learning across diverse disciplines by serving as a collaborative, interdisciplinary partner. This role bridges business, humanities, and social sciences, helping faculty and students navigate complex, cross-disciplinary scholarship through expert support in data, information literacy, and access to scholarly resources. By fostering collaboration and innovation, the librarian advances open access, curriculum development, and impactful research across fields.

Requirements:

  • Deliver specialized research support and consultations to faculty, students, and staff in business, humanities, and social sciences, supporting both quantitative and qualitative research.

  • Assist researchers in locating, managing, analyzing, and visualizing data using statistical, geospatial, text analysis, and qualitative tools relevant to business, humanities, and social science research.

  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources and digital tools into curricula, enhancing student engagement with data, critical inquiry, and disciplinary scholarship.

  • Participate in collaborative collection development to maintain and build collections that support academic priorities in business, humanities, and social sciences.

  • Identify and promote open access resources, such as open educational materials, open data, and freely available scholarly publications, that support the research and teaching needs of faculty and students.

  • Organize and facilitate workshops focused on information, data, and digital literacy, as well as domain-specific research tools and methods.

  • Engage in outreach to build strong partnerships with academic departments, increase visibility of library services, and embed library expertise into teaching, research, and scholarship.

  • Engage with external libraries, research centers, and regional institutions to build partnerships and explore opportunities for resource sharing in support of the interdisciplinary research needs of the university community.

  • Contribute to the profession through scholarly engagement, presentations, and active participation on library, university, and professional committees.
