Four weeks from today, the global digital preservation community will come together to celebrate the very best in our field at the Digital Preservation Awards 2026!

Organized by the Digital Preservation Coalition every two years, the Awards are the leading international celebration of achievement in digital preservation. They recognize the people, projects and organizations making outstanding contributions to securing our digital legacy.

The winners will be revealed at the Awards ceremony on Thursday 15 October 2026 at the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute (FINA) in Warsaw, Poland, as part of the No Time to Wait 10 conference. The ceremony will also be livestreamed, so you can join the celebration from wherever you are!

iPRES 2026 kicks off next week! If you can’t be there in person, iPRES Radio will bring you a daily dose of digital preservation from the conference.

Running from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 September 2026 alongside iPRES 2026 in Copenhagen, iPRES Radio offers live opportunities to catch up on the conference and connect with colleagues around the world.

Open to everyone, iPRES Radio offers an informal opportunity to catch up on conference highlights, hear from people attending in person, and join conversations with digital preservation colleagues around the world. Whether you're attending iPRES in Copenhagen, following the conference remotely, or simply curious about the latest developments in digital preservation, everyone is welcome. No registration for the main conference is required.

The 2026 RIMPA Live Convention brings together records and information management practitioners, industry experts and thought leaders to explore the issues and developments shaping the future of the profession. Taking place from 20–22 October 2026 at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, Australia, the convention will explore topics including AI, information governance, privacy, risk, emerging technology and digital transformation.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to give members an exclusive one-month preview of its latest Technology Watch Guidance Note: Digital Disaster Risk Management for Repositories and Archives, authored by Annette Mills, Collection Development Leader, City of Charles Sturt and Dr Heather Brown, Librarian, Education and Sector Standards, Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).

The NDSA has released the results of the 2025 Staffing Survey, the fourth in its longitudinal study of digital preservation staffing and skills.

The 21st International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 9–12 February 2027, bringing together an international community to share developments, ideas and practical work in digital curation. The call for Poster and Demonstration proposals is open until 16 October 2026.

Three new practical resources are now available as part of the DPC’s Digital Preservation Toolkit for Community Archives, expanding the guidance available in response to feedback from the wider digital preservation community.

World Digital Preservation Day 2026 is approaching, and once again we are inviting DPC Members and Supporters to share their perspectives through the DPC blog! Taking place on 5 November, this year’s WDPD theme is: Save Our Stories (SOS): Our digital heritage in danger.
