Applications are invited for the position of Training and Engagement Manager as part of the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) team located at the Royal Irish Academy (RIA).

This is a permanent position that has the responsibility for delivering and continually developing DRI’s skills and training programme, building and engaging the DRI end-user base (i.e. students, researchers and the general public), managing DRI’s publications, managing the DRI’s outreach programme of educational events, and supporting the digital preservation and access work of DRI’s members. 

The key accountabilities for this role are:

TRAINING

  • Regularly assessing, updating and delivering the DRI Training Programme, which includes:

  • Actively understanding membership and broader stakeholder requirements in terms of training to enable members to deposit quality collections in line with internal workflows and organisational policy

  • Delivering lectures/workshops/seminars to a range of members with varying skill levels

  • Assisting members with frequently asked questions and issues related to collection preparation (e.g. structure, metadata, file types)

  • Designing, publishing and promoting training resources, such as videos and open educational resources

ENGAGEMENT

  • Creating and executing a plan to identify, target and build DRI’s end-user base (e.g. integrating DRI content into third-level research programs, government services, school curriculum design and other institutions)

  • Managing the administration, budgeting, planning, promotion, delivery and evaluation of a programme of educational events that address contemporary debates/challenges/issues in digital archiving, preservation and data sharing.

  • Evaluating the training and engagement programmes, maintaining metrics to track feedback and uptake, and reporting on these

  • Developing collaborations and partnerships between DRI and relevant organisations, networks and stakeholders in Ireland to build DRI’s designated community and audiences

  • Managing DRI’s publications, including reports, guidelines, policies and articles from conception to publication

  • Creating and circulating website and social media content relevant to the remit of the role

  • Actively contributing to grant and funding proposals

  • Any other duties as assigned
