This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent provides preservation oversight and liaison to major programs segments of the National Archives and may serve as a project director or team member of preservation and archival research and evaluation study teams analyzing issues that have agency-wide and/or government-wide impact. Preservation Program Officer will work with a wide variety of media in Archives holdings, especially objects and artifacts.

As a Preservation Program Officer, you will:

  • Work collaboratively in assigned programs to design and implement strategies for the effective and efficient preservation of records.

  • Provide preservation guidance and assistance to Division Directors, archivists, and technicians.

  • Direct, coordinate, or participate in preservation projects and studies designed to resolve complex problems affecting the long-term preservation of NARA holdings.
