Given the spread of COVID-19, the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is monitoring the advice from the World Health Organisation and guidance of Health Protection Scotland. As our work places particular emphasis on face-to-face activities and travel, we seek to minimize disruption to our work whilst safeguarding the health and wellbeing of participants and staff.

The situation is fluid and we will respond to guidance as it is updated. Therefore, our program, including face-to-face events, will proceed as advertised unless official advice suggests it would be unsafe to do so.

Staff are currently undertaking a risk assessment of each element of our program and where necessary, we will move to an online alternative, taking the place of the face-to-face event. This will follow the planned program as closely as is feasible.

Where face-to-face events do need to be cancelled, the DPC will endeavour to contact event attendees in good time in order to rearrange or travel and accommodation bookings. If this should occur, paying attendees will be refunded, and access to the online alternative offered in place.

Please follow the DPC news pages for more information as the situation progresses. We are grateful to colleagues and supporters for their patience with this unprecedented disruption.
