About iPRES 2023

iPRES is the premier and longest-running conference series on digital preservation. Since 2004, annual iPRES conferences have been hosted around the globe on four continents. The conference brings together scientists, students, researchers, archivists, librarians, providers, and other experts to share recent developments, innovative projects and to collaboratively solve problems. Year on year the debate and research profiled at iPRES have moved digital preservation from a technology driven niche specialism of experts to a global challenge with the community to match.

This year’s 19th conference, iPRES 2023, will be hosted by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA, from September 19 through the 22! The theme ‘Digital Preservation in Disrupting Times’ continues and enhances conversations undertaken by delegates to the 2022 meeting, even as we navigate a world under immense pressure. The topics covered under this theme include:

  • Digital Accessibility, Inclusion, and Diversity
  • Sustainability: Real and Imagined
  • We’re All in This Together
  • From Theory to Practice
  • Immersive Information

To find out more, please visit the iPRES 2023 conference page at https://ipres2023.us/.

About the DPC Career Development Fund Grants

Successful candidates attending in person will also receive a contribution towards travel and accommodation, which will be offered up to the following limits:

  • Domestic travel - £150
  • Intra-Continental travel - £300
  • Inter-Continental travel - £750

If your grant application is successful, you will be asked whether you would like to receive in-person or online-only registration.

Eligibility

All DPC Members are eligible to apply for this Career Development Fund grant. This includes prospective members whose request to join is approved by the application deadline of 07:00 UTC on 9th June 2023. Career Development Fund grants are not available to non-members. For information about joining the DPC, see https://www.dpconline.org/about/join-us

Please note that only one grant is available per member per advertised call. In other words, DPC members may submit a maximum of one application for one applicant for this advertised call (e.g., one application for a person representing a DPC member organization). We recommend that any member organization which supports an application discusses appropriate outcomes and benefits for the organization prior to submission. Moreover, because only one grant is available per member institution, we recommend that applicants ensure that they are not inadvertently competing with colleagues.
