To celebrate World Digital Preservation Day, the Dutch Digital Heritage Network (DHN) and the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) are organizing the international conference ‘Memory Makers: Digital Preservation Skills and How to Get Them’ on 29th and 30th November. Hosted by the Amsterdam Museum, and with many speakers of the international digital preservation community on the agenda, we look forward to an inspiring and interactive conference in the capital city of The Netherlands. 


Thursday 29th November

  • 12:30 - 13:00 Opening of the 2nd World Digital Preservation Day

  • 13:00 – 14:30 Session I: Teaching
    • This session brings a focus on educational developments. How is digital preservation incorporated in the curricula of higher education? Is there a good balance between theory and practice?

How to Register

The conference is free and open to all although places are strictly limited and should be booked in advance. Registration will close two weeks before the event and early booking is recommended as we expect the day to be popular


Awards Ceremony

We are delighted to announce that the Digital Preservation Awards (DPA) ceremony will be held at the Amsterdam Museum after the conference on the 29th November. It is the first time that the ceremony will be held outside the UK. 

Attendance at the Digital Preservation Awards ceremony is by invitation only, and participating in the conference does not guarantee attendance at this evening event. However, attendees of the ‘Memory Makers’ Conference are invited to share in the experience by watching the broadcast of the ceremony which will be live streamed on the night.
