#DPClinic is an informal online space to discuss a popular digital preservation topic. This month's clinic takes place on Friday 26th May at 1:00pm UTC/2:00pm BST (click here for local times).

The topic for the session will be database preservation and we will be watching a presentation from Peter Francis, Manager, Standards and Policy at PROV (Public Record Office Victoria). In a presentation Peter recently gave at a #DPClinic session in Australasia, he talked about using the SIARD (Software Independent Archiving of Relational Databases) tools to convert and store database content.

Participants are invited to bring questions, queries and challenges on the relevant topic, as well as stories of what has worked well for them; or alternatively just listen in to the discussion.

There will be time for discussion and participants will be able to share their own database preservation experiences. Peter will not be available to join in the Q&A and discussion, but we will be able to follow up with further questions for him after the event.

Who can use #DPClinic?

#DPConnect and #DPClinic are available to everyone in the digital preservation community, DPC Members and non-members alike, provided all participants are respectful and supportive of one another and adhere to the DPC's Inclusion and Diversity Policy.
