Do you need help or advice to complete an assessment using DPC’s Rapid Assessment Model DPC RAM) or Competency Audit Toolkit (DPC CAT)? Do you have questions about how to use these models or tools within your organization? Do you want a friendly chat in confidence with DPC staff to help you plan your approach or work through any challenges or issues you have encountered?
DPC RAM is a digital preservation maturity model which has been designed to enable rapid benchmarking of an organization’s digital preservation capability and facilitate continuous improvement over time. We encourage our members to use DPC RAM annually, not only to assess their current digital preservation maturity, but also to set goals for where they would like to be in the future and use the framework to help create a forward plan to reach those targets.
DPC CAT provides a structured process for assessing the skill levels of those undertaking digital preservation work on an individual basis, or collectively within an organization. As well as being a useful tool in its own right, carrying out a skills audit using DPC CAT can provide information that can be used alongside DPC RAM to establish which skills are needed to support current capabilities and to achieve the desired level of digital preservation maturity.
If you would like help or advice on completing a DPC RAM or CAT assessment you may book a confidential one-to-one Surgery Session with staff from the DPC's Good Practice and/or Workforce Development teams. We will be happy to provide guidance and answer any questions you might have on the model(s), the process(es), and your next steps. It is up to you to decide whether you want to focus on DPC RAM, DPC CAT …or both!
RAM-bulance and CAT Scan sessions are 30 mins long and scheduled to accommodate various timezones. You are welcome to book two sessions back-to-back on the same day if you would like longer than 30 mins, or a session on each of the advertised dates if you would like to discuss an issue and then check in on progress later on.
RAM-bulance and CAT Scan Surgery Sessions are available to DPC Members on Thursday 7th May and Tuesday 12th May, 06:00am-10:00pm (UTC). Please contact Eleanor.OLeary@dpconline.org to book your 30-minute session. When booking, state your preferred date and time and whether you would like to focus on RAM, CAT (or both).
We are looking forward to chatting with you!
