DROID is a free open-source software tool developed by The National Archives in the UK (TNA) and used by archivists across the world to help characterise and assess their digital records and plan for their long-term accessibility.
In this session Steve Daly, who is responsible for Digital Preservation at the National Archives and the Product Owner for DROID, will give a thorough introduction to the application and other related free open-source tools. Starting at an introductory level, the session will guide you from first click to more advanced features of the application.
This session will cover:
Basic and advanced usage
Little-known features, tips, and tricks
Working with digital files held in cloud storage
Automating DROID to integrate it with digital preservation workflows
Other related tools provided by TNA
After a presentation, there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Whether you are an experienced user of DROID or new to this tool, do come along to find out more!

DPC Inclusion & Diversity Policy
The DPC Community is guided by the values set out in our Strategic Plan and aims to be respectful, welcoming, inclusive and transparent - the same applies to #DPConnect sessions. We encourage diversity in all its forms and are committed to being accessible to everyone who wishes to engage with the topic of digital preservation, whilst remaining technology and vendor neutral. We ask all those who are part of this community and/or attending a #DPConnect session to be positive, accepting, and sensitive to the needs and feelings of others in alignment with our DPC Inclusion & Diversity Policy.
Zoom may now require you to have a personal account in order to join a meeting. Therefore please could you register for an account in advance of #DPConnect, if you do not have one already. The sign up link is here: https://zoom.us/signup
