This training will be an in-person event in London and streamed online via Zoom on the 22nd of June at 12:30pm UTC/1:30pm BST (click for your local time).

DPC’s values of transparency and accountability, as well as our status as a charity, encourage us to provide training to all existing, new and emerging directors so that they can understand their responsibilities and interpret effectively the information they receive.  This gives them the capacity to oversee and direct the DPC in compliance with best practice and in full knowledge of the risks and opportunities which we face.  It ensures that effective and highly-skilled leadership is distributed across the membership and that competency-based roles are open to all.  This year, recognizing the growing complexity of the DPC’s program, we are introducing a training program for directors, including new and emerging leaders across the whole of our membership.

This session will introduce and examine the primary financial reports which are presented to board directors, using the DPC as a case study.  It is especially designed for those with only limited experience with financial management so that they can build confidence, understand reports, participate in budget setting, challenge forecasts and gain a fuller appreciation of financial risks and opportunities.  Although based on the experience of the DPC, these skills will be immediately transferable to senior leadership roles across many different kinds of institution.

Executive Board and Representative Council members will receive an invitation to this meeting.
