Cloud-based platforms for productivity and collaboration have become an essential part of our working lives, particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic led to an increase in remote working. Using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, colleagues can collaborate on shared documents, send emails and conduct remote meetings. These platforms offer multiple ways to collaborate and communicate as we work, via a host of different applications and features. Whilst bringing obvious benefits to the workplace, these platforms also bring information management and preservation challenges - Which content is in scope for preservation? What are the boundaries of any given piece of content? How do we capture and preserve it?

This event will explore how a number of organizations are beginning to tackle the challenge of preserving content from Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. We will hear from speakers at different stages of thinking, planning and acting as well as the perspective of a solution provider. Time will be set aside for Q&A and discussion and attendees will be encouraged to consider how to move forward with these challenges in their own organizations.

The event will include speakers from The National Archives UK, Digital Archives Flanders, Privy Council Office Government of Canada, University of Sheffield and Preservica.

Where permission is granted, presentations will be recorded and available to DPC Members from this page after the event. A 'watch party' event will be held at a time to suit members in Australasia.
