The Digital Preservation Coalition exists to connect people and enable ever closer collaboration towards a shared global challenge.

#DPConnect returns from Friday 29th October 2021 at 1300 UTC as a weekly online space to drop in and discuss all things digital preservation.

The gatherings will remain short and informal, 30 minutes max, they will have no agenda and no themes – just come and talk about what you are working on, share work problems and challenges - or just say hello!

Longer meetings can always continue once others have left if required. 

We'll use the hashtag #dpconnect when we discuss it on twitter.

As a new addition we will add a theme to #DPConnect on the last Friday of each month.  These sessions – which we’re calling #DPClinic – will pick a popular digital preservation topic each month and invite discussion, debate and controversy around shared challenges in preservation. Participants are invited to bring questions, queries and challenges on the relevant topic, as well as stories of what has worked well for them; or alternatively just listen in to the discussion.

Suggestions for subsequent #DPClinic themes are welcomed, but the first four themes will be as follows:

Who can use #DPConnect?

  • #DPConnect and #DPClinic are available to everyone in the digital preservation community, DPC Members and non-members alike, provided all participants are respectful and supportive of one another and adhere to the DPC's Inclusion and Diversity Policy (see more below).

How to #DPConnect?

  • #DPConnect will use the DPC's online Zoom facility.

  • Connect by phone or web.

  • DPC members may access the sessions they would like to attend directly, by logging into the website to reveal the joining information.

  • Non-Members who would like to attend the sessions may request the joining information by clicking the link below.

  • Re-usable meeting links: the same meeting ID or URL will apply each week.

  • Each session will be captained by a DPC Staff Member or Guest Host.

  • Note any items of digital preservation discussion you would like to record for action or information here (not compulsory)


#DPConnect will take place every Friday at 1300 UTC (click for local times), with a themed #DPClinic once a month.
