Edinburgh Preserves is delighted to announce details of our next learning and networking event.

This informal event will take place in National Records of Scotland’s West Register House. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about recent digital preservation initiatives from organisations within and beyond the greater Edinburgh area, over casual evening drinks and nibbles.

There will be a particularly international dimension this year, as we will be joined by visitors from the University of Marmara in Turkey, who have a particular interest in information management and digital preservation.

The event is aimed at anyone with an interest in all-things digital preservation e.g. recordkeeping professionals, technical staff, legal staff, senior managers etc.

Schedule:

  • 1600 Arrivals and refreshments
  • 1630 Welcome from NRS
  • 1640 ‘Choosing between Preservica and Archivematica for research data preservation’

P.S. Folks may be interested in combining attendance at Edinburgh Preserves with another archives-themed event taking place at the Edinburgh Fringe on the same afternoon. Alternative Facts: Is the Truth in the Archives? is a spoken word event featuring Rachel Hosker, Archives Manager at the University of Edinburgh, and will take place between 13:50 and 14:50 in New Town Theatre, a very short stroll from West Register House.
