Archives New Zealand is developing and implementing a full-scale government digital archive, working closely with the National Library of New Zealand within the Department of Internal Affairs.

This key management role has responsibility for the business change workstreams to ensure practical implementation of digital archiving and digital continuity for all stakeholders (internal and across government). This role leads a high-performing and diverse team responsible for developing digital preservation capability at Archives New Zealand and for ensuring successful relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders. This includes working intensively with Archives' managers to support the evolution of Archives' "business as usual" activities to progressively encompass management of digital public archives. This role is also at the forefront of championing the importance of digital preservation in the public sector, stimulating debate and challenge existing practice where appropriate.
