The University of Sussex is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Digital Archiving to work on a new AHRC Leadership Fellows project, ‘Global Bethlehem, 1860-1930’. The successful candidate will join a team of scholars and artists engaged in a ground-breaking project that documents the development of a small but iconic Palestinian town in tandem with its global diaspora.

The Research Fellow will work primarily on the digital archiving aspect of the project, overseeing metadata capture and processes of digitization, but also contributing to the project’s overall intellectual direction. The successful candidate is expected to have already completed a Ph.D in digital archiving or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience of data storage and management systems, metadata capture and digitization methods, as well as an ability to work productively as part of a research team are essential for this position.
